Cinequest filmfest to host two Iran animations

‘Blows with the wind’ and ‘Maned & Macho’ are to vie at the Cinequest Film Festival in the US.

‘Maned & Macho’ directed by Shiva Sadegh Asadi and Hazhir As’adi’s ‘Blows with the wind’ are two Iranian animations to compete at the 28th edition of the event.

‘Blows with the wind’ narrates the story of a scarecrow that faces some unpleasant events. The scarecrow becomes human and breaks away from those situations. On the way he sees two other scarecrows whose conditions are not better than that of him. Thus he is on the horns of a dilemma and must make a hard decision.

‘Maned & Macho’ is about a young girl's repressed emotions and instincts that are embodied in some animals which come out of her dreams. However, no one in her family is receptive to these animals.

The Cinequest Film Festival is an annual independent film festival held in San Jose, California. Cinequest awards the annual Maverick Spirit Awards. The festival has over 130 World or US premieres from over 30 countries.

The 28th edition of the event is scheduled to be held from February 27 to March 11, 2018.
